About
Behind the Lens

Brownlow Media started on the touchline.
I'm Harry Brownlow, and I grew up in rugby. After stepping away from playing, I wasn't ready to lose the atmosphere, noise and emotion that comes with the sport — so I picked up a camera and found another way to be part of it.
What began as photographing games I would otherwise have played in quickly turned into something more serious. At 17, I've already photographed some of the biggest rugby teams in the UK.
Sport From The Inside
Having played the game, I know where the moments happen — the set-piece, the collision, the reaction on the touchline afterwards. That instinct is difficult to learn from the sideline alone.
Alongside rugby, I shoot surf, portraits, product and still-life work, bringing the same attention to movement, light and environment to every project.

A Different Perspective
Being younger than most photographers working in sport is a strength. I understand younger athletes, how they want to be represented, and what actually performs on modern social platforms.
I shoot with the final format in mind — match galleries, portrait sets and short-form video built for Instagram rather than squeezed into it afterwards.
I'm based in Northumberland and happy to travel throughout Scotland, the North of England and further afield for the right project.
Product & Brand
Away from the pitch I shoot product and brand imagery — most recently for TENS sunglasses and Pure Scot whisky, photographed on location around the coast rather than in a studio.
The approach is the same as my sport work: real light, real environments and images that sit naturally on a brand's social feed and website.
